As droughts come and go, food remains a critical problem in our region placing our communities to depend on food aid for generations. Basic food prices have been on the rise, this hits the poorest members of our communities harder and harder.

That’s why Wasda is pioneering integrated agro-pastoral livelihood in Wajir County, supporting small-scale irrigated agriculture, changing pastoralists mindsets to embrace farming, to diversify livelihoods and most importantly by focusing on dry land farming techniques, tools, access to markets and influencing the county government of Wajir to invest in agriculture.
